Hey Everyone - Here is the latest info on Powder Puff Sunday.
Girls play football. Guys cheer them on. Parents/families come and watch the fun. Parents (you can bring lawn chairs if you'd like to.)
We will update this page every time we receive information from students.
7th, 10th, and 12th grade team - Alpha Omega Chi (Jesus is the Alpha and the Omega)
5:30 practice (girls practice football, guys practice for halftime cheer)
Wear: any kind of college preppy clothes or just wear red
Coach: Perry Wilson
8th, 9th, and 11th grade team - Maui's Gang
5:30 practice (girls practice football, guys practice for halftime cheer)
Wear: any kind of Hawaiian or summer clothing
Coaches: Shaun Burrow and Ashley Burrow
Referees: John Hargrove and new guy intern
Info for guys:
Guys can earn points for their team for the following:

A run-through banner as the girls take the field before the game (2 points)

A sign which says "John 3:16" on it (1 point)

A pre-planned cheer during the game which makes the parents cheer and gets them to their feet (2 points per time, max of 2 times) (think HS Fri night football game on this...some of the cheers like "2 bits, 4 bits, 6 bits, a dollar, all for the (team name) stand up and hollar" or other things you might have heard at a football game.)
Guys Info for Halftime Cheer:
Alpha Omega Chi:
A half-time cheer at least 1 minute long.
Must include all guys in a cheer for your team.
Include the name of your team.
Also include these words:
Dungeon
Butterflies
Viola
Oatmeal
Sunglasses
Alaska
These things must also be included:
Somersault, by at least 3 people
Kart-wheel, by at least 3 people
Pyramid of at least 6 people
Throwing a hat
Something to give to the crowd (5 things, can be the same item each time…as in: you can give 5 pencils)
Maui’s Gang:

Rules - these were posted on a Rules 2023 page, but we ran out of pages, so it is now here.
7 on 7...unless we need to play with less because there are not enough girls.
A kickoff/punt will begin the game and will happen after each score.
8 second rush (only one player can rush)
QB can run if other team rushes. Otherwise, QB can not run
8 downs per series, no 1st downs possible.
Ball goes to other team after 8 plays if team does not score
If team wants to give up 8th down, they can punt or we will place ball near the opposing teams approx. 20 yard line
There will be 4 quarters of play. Each quarter is 8 minutes long.
Delay of game will be called after approx. 30 seconds between plays
If a QB plays all of one series, she can not play in the next series.
Try to include everyone on a fairly equal basis if they want.
Fun plays are always allowed.
Yelling funny things, trick plays, etc. are great.
