Hey Parents - this weekend we will be going through a series called "Not a Fan."   This series focuses on one main question: are you a fan of Jesus, or are you a follower of Jesus.  They do a great job at helping everyone (students and adults alike) to see the difference between a fan and a follower of Jesus.

This page was created for two reasons:

 

1) For parents of students at the retreat -

...to allow you to see the videos we are watching and see the small group questions we'll be using.  This will let you know what your son/daughter is learning and going through this weekend - and will also let you pray specifically about the things they are learning.  AND - we think you'll be encouraged and challenged in your faith as well from watching these videos.  We've got your kids for the next 36 hours...so we hope you can take a few minutes to watch these videos.

2) For students and parents who are not part of the retreat -

...to allow our students - and parents - to watch these videos and have a time to talk about them together.  It could be kind of like a family devotional time.  Or instead of watching whatever you might otherwise watch on Netflix or Prime, watch these videos.  And then if you want to talk about some of the questions, you can.  

We think this will really help our students who were not able to come to the retreat to be encouraged and to also be up-to-speed on what we are doing at the retreat.  That way, if we talk about something from the retreat in class sometime, they will know what we are talking about.

The videos are below.  Watch them from this page, or click on the YouTube link to watch them directly from YouTube.  We encourage you to take a few minutes throughout this weekend and check them out.  They're really good.    And below the videos are links to the small group questions for each video.  (There are some activities we will be doing and some teaching in addition to these videos, but this will give you the main idea of the weekend.) 

 

Students at the retreat will come home with a book - the book is the teen edition of Not a Fan. If your son/daughter is not at the retreat and you want to buy that book for them, it's a good one.
