Youth Kitchen Monthly Coordinator Responsibilities

We could use some help with the care and upkeep of our new youth kitchen.  We would like to have one parent a month to help take care of the kitchen.  (You are welcome to sign-up with another parent and share the responsibilities if you would like to.)

Each time the kitchen is used, it is the responsibility of the people who use it to clean up after themselves.  We also have janitorial service for our entire youth area.  Still, we think a monthly cleaning of things like the refrigerator and ovens will be a helpful thing.

Here are the monthly tasks which we need help with.  (These things can be done at any point throughout the month, but we specifically ask that the cleaning tasks be completed near the end of the month.)

1) Clean Out Refrigerator - throw away anything that is expired or old

2) Clean Refrigerator - wipe all shelves and surfaces inside

3) Clean sink

4) Take any dirty dish towels home and wash them.  Return them to the youth kitchen.

5) Empty ice machine tubs by pouring the ice in the sink

6) Wipe down all cabinets

7) Clean ovens, if needed

8) Clean microwaves, if needed

9) If there are any dirty dishes, put them in the dishwasher and run the dishwasher.  Empty the dishwasher after it has completed washing

10) (DISREGARD THIS ONE FOR NOW - WE HAVE PLENTY OF STUFF)  If there are any items that need to be replinished or refilled, purchase those items using a church Walmart card (can be checked out from Becky in the office) or just let Monty know which items need to be purchased.  Here is a list of things we want to make sure we have in stock:

  • Plates (200)
  • Bowls (100)
  • Forks/Knives/Spoons (200 of each)
  • Napkins (200)
  • Paper towels (1 roll)
  • Foil
  • Dish soap
  • Dishwasher Soap
  • Plastic Ziplock Baggies

If there are any problems or any needs that should be addressed, let Monty or Heather know.
